We know there’s no Nutshell show this month. Boo, we miss you, too! 💜
But oh heck no, we’re not leaving you story-less in November! On Saturday, November 14, The Nutshell Three are throwing a party for our sibling show, WILDCARD!, and we want you there!
Wait, what’s WILDCARD?
It’s our monthly open-mic story swap. Anyone can put their name in the NOT HAT, and if drawn, they tell a true 8-minute story to a warm, attentive crowd. Every month since June, storytellers have voted for their favorite story of the night, and now all those winners are returning for one big evening: the Shiny Thing Showcase.
The lineup:
Michelle Wood 💜 Victoria Goldblatt 💜 Frances Southwick 💜 John Keenan 💜 Alaa Shabouni 💜 And Amy Bee’s Wild Card, Lorraine Gonzalez, who featured before WILDCARD! went competitive and never got her shot at the vote. Now she does. A show called WILDCARD! has to have a wild card, right?! 😊
Also, we’ll be honoring John Aubert, the Sacramento region’s story ambassador, for all he’s done to advance storytelling in our community.
The theme: Secret Family Recipe
Every family has one; the instructions nobody wrote down but everyone follows. Expect laughs, heartbreak, and everything in between.
And here’s the fun part: every storyteller gets a Shiny Thing because standing up and telling the truth out loud takes guts. But YOU, the audience, will vote for our favorite story of the night, and that story wins the EVEN SHINIER THING!!!
