Pitch Your Story

Sacramento’s live storytelling scene is growing, and you can be part of it (no matter where you’re from!).

In a Nutshell Storytelling is our flagship show: true, personal stories told live by experienced storytellers. Each month’s lineup is curated to feature the best stories and performers we can find; people who’ve honed their craft and know how to hold an audience for 20 minutes straight.

We occasionally feature a “Sacramento Person of Interest,” someone local with a fascinating life story, even if storytelling isn’t their usual gig. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you, too.

WILDCARD is our open-mic story swap at Old Soul the Alley; it’s a fun, casual, community-driven event. Anyone can put their name in our NOT HAT for a chance to step up to the mic and tell a five-to-ten-minute true story.

The form below is for storytellers interested in:

  • Being a featured teller at WILDCARD (more time onstage, great for works in progress), or

  • Pitching a story for In a Nutshell Storytelling (experienced performers only).

Think your story fits one of our shows? Fill out the form below! We’re looking for 2026 tellers!
