In a Nutshell LIVE Storytelling June: EUREKA!
The spark of discovery: what clicked, how it happened, and what followed.
The spark of discovery: what clicked, how it happened, and what followed.
Hello to all our lovely Nutshell Friends! We’ve been sharing our favorite storytellers with you at the gorgeous Sofia Theatre for SIX MONTHS!
And holy hell, it’s been a blast. We liked seeing your faces out and about and IN REAL LIFE so much that we added another monthly show—WILDCARD!—just so we could rub elbows with you and give you a chance to try your hand at storytelling. If you haven’t checked out WILDCARD! yet, you still can on June 19, 6pm, Old Soul The Alley. The mix of old pros and those new to the game is super fun!
ANYWAY.
If you’re new to the Nutshell newsletter and/or haven’t made it to a show yet—Hey! Hello! Howdy! Secondly, you'd better get yer buns to June’s show because we’ve got some excellent tellers to share with you (see below for the lineup).
This month is a great time to come check out In a Nutshell LIVE Storytelling as we have some fantastic stories for you, like:
You’ve been dating a charming man for seven months when he suddenly tells you a secret he’s been keeping: his two children. What now?
You’ve reunited with an old flame, but how do you stoke the embers of romance, and will lingerie do the trick of bridging the two of you 20 years into the past?
You’ve been overcoming your social anxiety and even made some friends, but now that you've made a friend, how do you keep a friend? Maybe attempt something scary and public?
We’re gonna have so much fun on June 30, and we want YOU to be there!
Sacramento story lovers, you know we think you’re the cat’s pajamas, right? We’re just crazy about you Nutshells, and we hope you feel the same way about us. We’re three friends who LOVE stories, and sharing live, true, and personal stories with you means the world. And the more people we can help find our bustling storytelling community, the better it will be for all of us! So tell a friend, tell two! TELL ‘EM ALL! Post on your socials, hit your mailing lists. HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR OUR NEW PODCAST?
Good news! PROMPT: is nearly finished and ready for the world. Prompt: will officially launch on July 16, with our first guest being none other than the Story Pope himself, JP Frary! From there, we’ll be dropping a new episode every other Wednesday. Each episode will include a story told at our In a Nutshell show and a discussion with the storyteller. Paid subscribers will get an extended version of our discussion with the storyteller!
We’re giving ALL OUR NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBERS a free preview of Prompt: on June 26th. We want all of you to get a chance to check out the podcast and if you’re liking what you hear and want to support us as we strive to make it better you can become a paid subscriber and have access to the full episodes (and some other stuff we have planned for the future). So be on the lookout for a special edition of the Nutshell newsletter on June 26, which will have more details and the special free preview of Prompt: a podcast about the stories behind the stories.
Well, thanks for hanging with us, Sacramento story lovers and beyond. We can’t wait to see you (and every single person you know!) on Monday, June 30, at the gorgeous Sofia Theatre.
Until then, keep telling your stories to each other, and we’ll see you soon.
Thank you,
