Free Preview of Prompt:
A bi-monthly podcast for people who love stories
Howdy everyone! In a Nutshell Storytelling is celebrating our SIX-MONTH anniversary with a free full preview of Prompt: to all of our subscribers.
Prompt: will officially go live on July 16 and drop every other Wednesday. All subscribers get to hear a story that was told at our In a Nutshell LIVE Storytelling show and then listen in as we talk to the storyteller behind the story.
We will have bonus conversation for paid subscribers (this free preview includes the bonus content. Yay!), so if you enjoy hearing all about the juicy, left-out details of the story, or you love finding out how these fantastic storytellers do what they do, why not go ahead and opt for that bonus subscription now and let’s learn about the craft of storytelling from the best: the storytellers themselves!
And we have some excellent conversations to share with you in the coming weeks, like finding out how Lucie Moses (February ‘25 Nutshell, “Strange Bedfellows”) really feels about rehabilitating wild squirrels (she loved those little rascals) and how Kiry Shabazz (January ‘25 Nutshell, “Breaking the Ice”) thinks about celebrity after his stint on The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon (Amy Bee contends he has a refreshingly healthy attitude on the subject) of of course JP Frary (so many Nutshell shows!) opens our podcast with a plethora of gems from his satchel of jewels, and, by the way,
HAVE YOU MET JP FRARY?!
Oh yeah.
We got on that bus.
We took that ride.
And now, all of you who didn’t get to hear JP’s Alaska story because you don’t live near us here in Sacramento (or you were here and you heard the story and man oh man you wanna hear it again because it was so darn funny and touching and how the heck does he do it?) get to hear it! We hope you love it and JP as much as we do (he’s our Story Pope, don’tcha know) and if you do, come get on the Nutshell bus with us, three friends who just love stories and want to share ALL OF THEM with you.
Enjoy the preview and stick around for more fun stuff coming in the next six months. And don't forget tickets to our June 30 show, this Monday!
Okay, so upcoming dates:
JUNE 30: Nutshell at the Sofia, theme “EUREKA!” $25
JULY 10: Nutshell is bringing stories to the Crocker’s ArtMix! The theme is “Time-Warped.” Check it out!
JULY 16: Premiere episode of Prompt: drops (and continues every other Wednesday)
JULY 17: WILDCARD! Monthly open mic story swap at Old Soul The Alley, $10
Thanks, everyone! Hope you enjoyed the episode. Wanna share it with friends and family? Sure, why not? Go ahead!
Can’t wait to see you out in the real world. Bye!
PS
Feel free to leave a comment or message us what you think and what you want to hear. Do you want more stuff? Would you like it if we did a monthly topic thread on a general subject for paid subscribers? Do you want to hear more from storytellers, like written Q & A’s? Would a monthly bonus episode of Amy and Keith hashing out their current story projects be fun? And maybe they invite their local Sacramento storytelling friends to join in from time to time? It’s all possible, especially with such an awesome storytelling community growing up all around us.
If you love hearing stories and want to dig in deeper with all the storytellers that have performed at In a Nutshell Storytelling, a paid subscription could be quite worthwhile, not to mention fun as heck and not a bad way to spend some minutes or some cash.
